New LOX Order is the upcoming third studio album by hip hop group The LOX, which may be released on Bad Boy Records. If so, it will be The LOX's first Bad Boy release since their 1998 debut.[1]
New L.O.X. Order has been in production for several years; in 2007, group member Jadakiss stated that the album nearly finished. Originally it was to be released between May and June of that year, to be followed by his own solo album.[2] Group priorities were changed when Jadakiss was signed to Roc-A-Fella Records and began recording his own solo album, as did the L.O.X.'s two other members, Sheek Louch and Styles P. Recording for the group project continued through 2008 and 2009, during which time the group's individual members released solo projects of their own, as well as a D-Block album featuring several new additions to the label.
In 2009, the group began to confirm rumors that Bad Boy CEO Sean Combs had been courting them for a record deal, stemming from their reconciliation on the TV program 106 & Park.[3][4][5]
At the beginning of 2010, Styles P claimed that the deal was incomplete, but that Diddy was still the only executive the group was meeting with. He also revealed that after making up with the group, Combs consistently brought up the possibility of reuniting under the Bad Boy umbrella.[6] More recently Ruff Ryders producer and past L.O.X. collaborator Dame Grease announced that he will be producing on The L.O.X. Order, and will have executive producer status on the project.[7] On May 9, 2010, Jadakiss revealed that the deal with Bad Boy may not go through due to fresh interest and more appealing offers from other labels.[8]
